My third grade class is made up of 25 curious and ambitious students. They work hard daily to gain knowledge and better themselves in all aspects of their lives. I work at a low-income school with a high population of English Language learners which presents them with extra challenges to overcome in the classroom. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive classroom in which they are inspired to learn.
My Project
This technology will allow my students access to online platforms that will support them in "conducting short research projects that build knowledge about a topic" (W.3.7). Further this technology will allow students "with guidance and support from adults, use technology to produce and publish writing" (W.3.6). Further this technology will be used as a tool to allow students to engage in district approved intervention applications. Such interventions will support students in gaining mathematic skills needed in achieving third grade standards which require "using multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems" (3.OA.A.3) and "fluently multiplying and dividing within 100" (3.OA.C.7.
