This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students

Canoga Park high school is an urban school with a high transiency rate.
Most of my students come from a low income family and are primarily Title one recipients. Although they face social, emotional, and economic challenges, my students are hard workers and eager learners. Many of them understand that education is the key to have a better future.
My Project
One of the many assignments my students do throughout the year is to research topics and present their findings. My students often create Power Points, short films and use other media to present their findings to their peers. My goal is to have my students internalize what they are learning, and be able to articulate their findings to the class.
We have an outdated computer that they use. This machine is very slow, has poor Internet connectivity and it's often frustrating trying it to make it work. If we get this computer my students will be able to do their multimedia presentations with a greater success.
We have one computer that my students use for multimedia presentations.This computer is about 7 years old, very outdated and performs poorly.
Often we have difficulties getting it to work properly. Getting a new computer less time will be spend in trying to make it work, and more time will be gained in the actual presentations. As a result, my students will be able to use better graphics, video and audio in their presentations. This will make their projects more engaging and informative.
