Technology for Small Groups! Help!

My students need two Osmo social and educational iPad accessories to utilize the iPads in small groups!

My Students

In our first grade classroom, we are always active. We have several areas where group learning takes place and many times students are working in pairs or small groups too! Our classmates are very diverse in their basic and academic needs and we all work together to achieve learning for all!

The students in my classroom are typically children at high risk of not succeeding in school.

Poverty is an issue in our neighborhood. Every student learns that our school is a safe environment and they are encouraged and supported to learn to their greatest ability!

My Project

Many students do not have access to technology at home. Our district is in the process of adding technology to each class. Our class is lucky to have one iPad per two students! Obtaining two Osmo units would allow students to use technology in small groups in a creative, social and educational way. I am currently learning all that I can to utilize technology in the classroom. This would be a great way to expose my students to the possibilities of using technology to their educational advantage!

While using the Osmo with the iPads, my students will be able to reinforce their reading and math skills in small groups.

In a classroom that needs a lot of differentiation, this independence and collaboration is a necessity! I will be able to make lessons directly related to the student's needs and the iPads will become more of a manipulative than just a screen! And best of all- using technology is FUN!
