Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.

Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online.

Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.

My Project

My district is closed for the remainder of the school year. With that said they are enrolled in an online learning program. As an educator, I am expected to have a Google Classroom, monitor student progress/assign lessons on multiple reading and math programs, and Zoom with my students. I am currently working with an old slow laptop and cell phone at home. I am doing okay working with these, but newer technology would allow me to use all functions available on Zoom and Google Classroom. Using a cell phone and old technology doesn’t allow me to use all that is available, and my district loaned out all of their technology to the students. Please help me give my students all the possibilities through technology! In the future, my students will be able to use technology in the classroom to be engaged in learning.
