My students need 4 tablets their parents do not have them in their home and we do not have any in our preschool. I would love to have some for the children to use here at school.
Our children at FHCDC are from low-income families, 95% of them are on some kind of government Voucher Program. They are all eager to learn everyday with big smiles. Everyday we have a morning assembly where the children sing together, recite poems like Respect, and because our children live in the largest food desert in Indiana the children go over different types of fruits and vegetables they do not see on a regular basis in their homes. The children also hear about an African American leader so they can hear about people who look like them who are doing great things. Most of their parents do not own computer in their homes, and we do not have any here at our school. I would like to have child proof tablets for my children. We have 54 preschoolers in our school I only have 12 of them it would be great if we can get some for all the children if not 12 for my classroom.
My Project
My project is to open a door of knowledge for our preschoolers. Most of our preschoolers parents do not have computers in their homes. So in return our children do not know anything about this form of technology. This is a whole new world for most of them. Giving them a chance to learn about their alphabet, number, shapes, and colors on a tablet will be so much fun for them, but learning about butterflies, dinosaurs, and the stars will be exciting. Seeing their eyes light up will be a true blessing. Hearing them say when I grow up I want to be........ this will be the highlight of my year. Thank You.
