Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Paper and pencil days are behind us now. My students love learning with their iPads. Each student can learn at their own pace individually or with a group.
My students are four and five year old little learners with big personalities.
They come to class eager to learn and socialize. Our school is located in south Oklahoma City and we are a Title 1 school. All of our students qualify for free breakfast and free lunch. Though our students come from a multitude of family and economic diversities, they do not let it hold them back!
My Project
Our school is a One-to-One school. We received the ConnectEd Grant through Apple and they have provided every student in our school with an iPad. Our students are able to use them to enhance their learning. The iPads came with the standard earbuds.
These are too large for our student's little ears and difficult for them to maneuver into their ears as well. When working on their iPads, they plug in the earbuds and turn the sound up all they way and lay them next to their iPads. This creates a lot of noise in the classroom and is bothersome to most of my little learners.
I am asking for a classroom set of earphones so that all of my students can learn in peace without distractions.
Each one of my students will be able to put their headphones on by themselves and allow them to feel more independent. Each one of my students will be able to enhance their learning on a daily basis by using their headphones when on their assigned applications.
