My students constantly make me proud to be their teacher. Whether they are researching the newest insect we are discovering or working together to better our school, they are excited to be a part of their own learning process.
Our school is a close knit community of about 300 students and 20 educators.
Students at our school see themselves as part of a learning community. They are not only there to learn the academics but also the life skills needed to be successful citizens. We pride ourselves as educators to try to provide them with the same opportunities as any other student. Even though our students know they might not have the same resources as other schools, they don't complain or compare. They are incredibly thankful for what we do have.
My Project
Our current students will live in a world of technology. It is our job as educators to provide them the opportunity to learn how to use this technology. I asked them if they could have one technology product for our room, what would they have and why? Almost all of the students asked for a tablet. They said they could use it to research, play educational games, practice their typing, video chat with other students around the world, create stories and research reports, and create learning videos for the younger students. I also have students with special needs in my classroom. This will be a great asset for them. I hope that I can provide them with these experiences through your generous support.
Donations for this project will help my students academically and socially.
They will be able to learn how to use technology as well as how to share and work collaboratively with others. I will also be able to differentiate my instruction. With my students with special needs, I will be able to include programs that will greatly add to their educational experience.
