The course focused on building strong Tier 1 literacy instruction using research-aligned practices and high-quality curriculum materials. One of the biggest takeaways for me was how to be even more intentional when planning whole-group lessons so that phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing all work together to support student learning.\r\n\r\nThe highlight of this experience was watching real classroom demonstration videos and then immediately applying those practices during my work with teachers. Seeing what strong, consistent instruction looks like in action made it easier to support teachers in refining their own lessons. One specific strategy I've already begun using is helping teachers plan clear, structured routines for phonics instruction that include explicit modeling, guided practice, and opportunities for students to apply their learning in connected text.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, I am now able to provide more focused and consistent guidance across first grade classrooms. Students are benefiting from stronger core instruction, clearer routines, and more opportunities to build foundational reading skills with confidence.
