Technology for Our Elementary School

My Students

I teach fourth grade at a Title I school. My students come from a variety of economic backgrounds; eighty-five to ninety percent of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. Many students receive more love and support from school than home.

My students enjoy learning and love using technology.

Our school does not have a device for every child. Each fourth grade class has 10 computers for 20 students.

I'm hoping Donors Choose will provide the opportunity to have more technology in my classroom to allow students to practice skills on computers after they are taught.

My Project

Having more Chromebooks in my classroom will allow the students to have more time to practice and review skills that have been previously taught, work on projects, practice typing skills, and work on many other academic skills.

My students deserve the same access to technology as other schools.

Our school does not currently have computers for every student. Each grade level shares a cart. This gives each of our fourth grade classes ten computers to share with twenty students. Most of our students do not have iPads, tablets, or computers in their homes. The only technology they come into contact with, other than a cell phone or gaming device, is at school.

Please help me provide more technology for my classroom so my students will have access to the same learning avenues as other schools.
