This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth grade students are eager to learn. They live in a low income area just outside of a major city. They are in a school of over 700 students with 90% receiving free and reduced price lunch. These students are in a Dual Language program where they are learning in both English and Spanish. They have been studying in both languages for four years. Many of them come from homes where English is not their first language; they speak English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Arabic. These students are hardworking and ready to learn. It is wonderful working with them.

My Project

These Chromebooks will allow my students to work on projects in order to learn about science topics and write about them. The will be learning coding, and computer skills that will provide them skills for their lifetime. They will work on their math skills at their independent level; this will allow them to improve at their own pace, in order to make growth. My students will use these notebooks to practice reading and work on their writing.

Technology is the future.

Allowing my students access to technology will prepare them to be lifelong learners. These Chromebooks will give them skills that will help them access information.
