Our school is an all-inclusive high school located in a city that is one of the fastest growing areas in Northern California. The school stands between a large bustling city and historic farmland, demonstrating a recent shift from an agricultural to a suburban community. Some people may see this change as a challenge, but at our school, this diversity is our strength. It provides us with the opportunity to learn about the many backgrounds of the people who walk our halls. I am fortunate to be a part of such a unique community that feels more like a family than a school.
My Project
We need your help acquiring technology for our art classroom to prepare for success during hybrid and distance learning. A set of Bose QuietComfort wireless headphones will help to facilitate student learning in-person and through video conferencing at the same time. The high quality microphone and wireless features will allow free movement between workstations in the classroom while still being connected to those online. A BenQ DesignVue PD2700Q PD Series monitor will give us the opportunity to use dual monitors for demonstrations during video learning. This monitor is also calibrated at a professional level for our student photographers and designers and will best show their work with a full spectrum of colors.
These tools will help us keep up with the demands of a new learning situation.
With this technology, students will be able to smoothly make the transition to a hybrid learning model, whether they are attending class in person or online. Most of our surrounding high schools have access to a variety of technology, and I hope by obtaining the necessary equipment, our school will be a step closer to making this transition as smooth as possible for teachers and students alike.
