Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into my room every day with a passion for learning that is not commonly seen in five year-olds. They are ready to learn!
I teach a dual language classroom in a Title I school.
This means that most of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. At the same time, they are trying to learn a new language. My students are expected to learn every core subject in both languages by the end of the year. I know they can achieve this goal if they have the right materials to work with.
Hurricane Harvey left many damages in our district. I am trying to provide my students with materials needed to get back on track.
My Project
In my classroom, my students are always doing research in both English and Spanish.
Our Science Fair is coming up and my students need to get many facts out of the internet.
Most of my students do not have computers at home, so this research becomes a bit tricky for them. I want all my students to achieve all the goals that have been required of them. By having this Mac Book in my classroom, I can give those students who do not have computers at home the time they need on the internet in order for them to plan the science fair projects and get all their facts straight! The Mac Book will be placed in our technology learning station and all my students will have access to it at least twice a week.
