Third graders are naturally curious about the world around them and totally unafraid when it comes to learning how to use technology. Please help me foster their curiosity and willingness to explore by donating to this project.
Last year, through generous donations, I was able to purchase enough laptops for half of my class; my goal this year is to complete our class set, so that my students are truly 1:1.
Using our existing laptops last year, my students completed large research projects, using various sites and the laptops' accessibility features when needed. The read aloud feature allows the kids to access much higher level text than they are able to read on their own, greatly increasing the amount of information available to them. The children were then able to dictate and edit their writing into Word documents that were submitted electronically....just like their middle and high school siblings do! Having a laptop for each student would just make this whole process even better!
