My Students

I work with a high-poverty, diverse population of seventh-grade students. In addition, these students have big hearts but they also have a variety of academic needs. Differentiation is required to adequately support all students in the classroom.

Many of these students have academic challenges, so they need technology to make learning accessible.

In order to keep students engaged with creative, innovative projects, they need technology to assist in differentiating instruction. I know they will appreciate anything given to them, and they deserve the support.

My Project

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and academic needs, so differentiation is important in order to keep all students engaged in learning. Technology will increase my ability to serve students using a Universal Design for Learning planning model.

With technology, enhanced and differentiated learning projects can be utilized to help students with a variety of needs.

As such, these Chromebooks, along with a working printer with ink, will allow me to differentiate on a higher level, as many students require technological enhancements for their learning needs to be met. For instance, programs like Moby Max, Khan Academy, IXL, and others provide students an opportunity for practice within their own academic levels. Students can also complete projects to make math more interesting and work in cooperative groups.
