This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My English language learners are high energy and enthusiastic.
Being a high school student and not speaking English is a difficult task.
I have the two lowest levels of English learners. My students are constantly seeking ways to express their ideas. My class is the one place where they can be presented with information at their level and not feel lost in a sea of English.
My Project
My students will use the laptop to create presentations and videos and play them for the class. They will be able to project their lessons onto the board without having the clunky desktop stuck on top of the cart. They will also be able to use the desktop it is replacing as a student station to complete work for other classes.
Providing students with new and updated technology allows them to keep up with the current trends and not stagnate on 6 year old machines that I have to piece together with parts scrounged from graveyard of old classrooms.
It will help take their smart phones and use them in a productive and educational manner instead of as vehicle for distraction.
