Technology for English Language Learners

My Project

In our diverse middle school classroom, many of my students are English Language Learners (ELLs) working hard to access grade-level content while also learning English. To support their success, I am requesting five iPads that will help bridge language gaps and empower these students to fully participate in class activities.

With iPads, students can use translation tools, take photos of classroom notes, and convert them into their native language for better comprehension.

They can also access educational apps designed to build vocabulary, improve reading skills, and support writing development—all at their own pace. These tools will allow them to engage with U.S. History and Civics content meaningfully and with more confidence.

Technology creates opportunities for inclusion. These iPads will help my ELL students take ownership of their learning, keep up with peers, and feel more connected in the classroom. Whether it's through interactive lessons, visual aids, or translated notes, this project will provide the scaffolding they need to thrive.
