This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. I am an ENL self-contained 3rd grade teacher at P.S 506 of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. My English language learners come from a low income community, and lack the materials necessary to learn. Each day that passed during the unexpected end of the 2019-2020 school year, my students inquired about materials, books, technology, and food. Yet, their determination and love of learning helped them overcome remote learning! Now more than ever, a new group of students will begin a new school year with more questions and concerns than ever before!
My Project
This year, teachers all over the world have risen to the challenge of remote learning! In doing so, I have learned to upload and share the resources necessary for instruction.
Unfortunately for my Title 1 school, funds are limited to providing all staff with the technology for effective student learning.
With one day into this new school year, students have reached out to me and requested for technology in hopes to complete their assignments. I hope to engage students during this new blended learning approach. With your help, my students will continue to grow to be technologically literate, caring and responsible students.
