My students need a laptop in the classroom to ensure that all of them will be able to access technology at least once a week.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Lee's classroom raised $726

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Is it my turn, Ms. L? When am I going to be able to go to our site, Ms. L?" My fourth grade students sometimes wait the whole week before being able to create documents, practice with the games I designed or the sites I selected to enhance their reading, grammar, or math and science skills.
Our Social Justice and Language Arts Magnet school emphasizes the respect of self and others.
This encompasses discipline and high expectations as well as activism and compassion. The kids know they will be Agents of Change and follow our school motto "Be the change you want to see in the world." African American students form about 75% of our school alongside with 22% of Hispanic kids and 1% of Asian children. This rich diversity of cultures offers unlimited opportunities to learn tolerance and team work while discovering new perspectives. However, about 80% of our families are at poverty level and can't afford donations.
My Project
My fourth graders deserve to have a new laptop computer. With one more machine, the turn around will be faster. More students will be able to practice their computer skills while learning, reviewing, and improving all traditional academic disciplines while acquiring 21st century skills. They'll take turns creating documents, write at their desk and save their work. I constantly modify our classroom website, and post new activities according to the students' needs. Your contribution will ensure the kids have access to technology and learn the basic and essential skills they'll need to be successful!
We would greatly appreciate your donation of this laptop computer to the class.
I guarantee, it will be used on a daily basis! By donating to this project, you will give my students an advantage; you will reestablish some equity in education and allow students who do not have access to technology at home a chance to have such at school. Thank you for making a difference in the kids' lives!
