My Students
My students are special because we have a diverse group of kids that go to school here. Our school demographics have really changed in the last 10 years. Many more of our students come from economically disadvantaged homes as well as non-US natives.
We have had many new students arrive here from Nepal in the past few years.
This has allowed the American born students a chance to learn about new cultures and traditional. My students are incredibly tolerant and empathetic towards the differences within our classroom.
My second graders are naturally curious children. They love to explore and use hands on materials. They love being able to use the technology in the classroom and it certainly keeps them engaged throughout the day. For many of my students, this is the only time they have access to technology.
My Project
Our students use centers daily during math. One of the centers allows them to use technology during one rotation. The students are all to practice their math facts as well as play engaging fath games.
Unfortunately, the number of students in our classroom exceed the amount of iPads we have for each student to use.
Having this Chromebook will allow all students to use technology everyday. This will keep the students focused and on task during the lesson.
Students are also able to use voice and choice throughout the school day. Having this Chromebook will allow for more students to use technology throughout the school year.
