My Students

How often do you think, "I want to Google that!" or let me look that up and turn to the internet for answers? My students are extremely eager to use technology but need a way to access it in the classroom.

My students are the kindest bunch of children that you would ever want to meet.

They are grateful what for they are given, eager to help others and genuinely caring. When they walk through the classroom door it is apparent that they are eager to learn and happy to be there. They come from a resilient, tough little town where their families work hard but still seem to struggle for basic needs. The recent hurricane, Sandy, took so much away from so many families that struggled to begin with. I recall our first day back after the hurricane, hearing stories of fear and sadness, but through smiling faces and happy eyes. They were so happy to be back at school and into their routine.

My Project

I'm requesting 2 Chromebooks for my students. This will provide them access to countless educational websites and a tool to foster 21st century skills. They will be able to work in a tech center with the Chromebooks and create documents and projects, research, and augment their technical skills.

Chromebooks will make a colossal difference in our classroom and the lives of my students.

This will change the landscape of the classroom for them. They will build necessary 21st century skills and will have access to an incredible resource that they likely would not have at home.
