My Students

I am a middle school special education teacher loving the opportunity to teach children having autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disabilities (ID). My 6th-8th graders are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

The more we know about how to support students with autism and intellectual disabilities the better prepared these children will be for academic success.

As my middle-school students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers. My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.

My Project

The power and flexibility of a MacBook gives students the freedom to explore and express new ideas whenever and wherever inspiration strikes. A MacBook has the power to bring their biggest ideas to life. And built-in apps and intuitive software create an incredibly personal learning experience for each student — one that can be as unique as they are.

A MacBook Air will help students navigate the digital world quickly and efficiently.

The MacBook has the ability to run efficiently, smoothly, and quickly. The digital age is always growing and with this new product from Apple, we can access it together!

Students will be allowed to also use the MacBook Air to navigate the Computer for all programs and intervention that we will utilize within school.
