Technology Classroom Lacking Technology

My students need subscriptions to BrainPOP, BrainPOP Jr., and BrainPOP ESL because they provide an interactive way to learn numerous concepts on the computer.

My Students

This year I will be switching from second to fourth grade, which is creating a bit of concern about having the appropriate teaching materials. The student population is extreme poverty, which brings daily struggles before entering the school doors. Living in a home without basic needs creates great anxiety.

My students are faced with family incarceration, drug abuse, hunger, homelessness, and poor health.

This particular population sees things that young minds should never see. They come to school eagerly wanting to make a change, to better their own lives, to surpass their circumstances. My school was involved with a School Improvement Grant, however, the students have made such great gains that they are flying on their own. Please help us continue the momentum by providing resources to enhance their learning experience.

My Project

I'm requesting subscriptions to BrainPOP, BrainPOP Jr., and BrainPOP ESL. These are hands-on interactive programs that encourage learning and progression. We will be in a classroom with a computer assigned to every two children. What an exciting opportunity to have technology at your fingertips. However, having little or no programs that interest you is the downside. Please help me include these programs that will inspire learning!

This project will make a huge impact to the entire fourth grade who will rotate through my technology classroom.

This is vitally important to have something available that is interesting and challenging. Your efforts are valued and appreciated!
