Help me give my students three Chromebooks. It would be a great asset in my bilingual classroom. It would help the English language learners learn reading, writing, and math skills.
My outstanding students are second language learners. They are energetic, friendly, and innovative researchers that are excited about being in school. They are always curious, eager and ready to learn new things in both languages. Our area was devastated by Hurricane Harvey almost a year ago and some children are still feeling the affects of this tragedy.
My goal is to allow my students to break barriers that they still may have by building and strengthening their confidence and their learning.
I provide academic encouragement so they will continue to work at their full potential maximizing their performance in class.
My Project
Receiving three Chromebooks would be great asset in my bilingual classroom. It would help the English language learners learn reading, writing, and math skills. Almost all students in our community come from low-income households. Having access to new technology is an investment in their future. All students do not learn the same way.
Therefore, I would use the Chromebooks to help differentiate their instruction in my reading and math stations so they may become life-long learners.
We use the Balanced Literacy Program at our campus where the students are reading and writing throughout the school day. My students are eager to come to school every day so they may learn new things.
Second grade students are at the age where they are looking for acceptance by performing well. I know there are many great educational opportunities that will truly help educate my students in my bilingual classroom with doing research on the internet.
