I teach culinary arts to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students from two area high schools in South Carolina. My second level classes earn up to 6 hours of college credit through the local community college.

We have a large need for a fully-functioning Netbook or laptop in our classroom for lecture purposes and project presentations. Our current computer system is outdated and constantly infected with viruses from our antiquated system.

A new Netbook computer, used as a standalone system, will not be tied into our school server system and will remain virus free. My students will be able to depend on it to use for in-class projects, view lecture notes for their college-credit courses and use for off-premise presentations to the local restaurant associations and at the annual state culinary competition.

With your help, my students will finally have the technology resources available to them to help prepare them for real life work scenarios, and ensure that they are fully prepared to successfully complete their college head start credits while still in high school.
