My students struggle with the headphone cords every time they want to listen and learn at the listening center. Help me change that for my students and create a more conducive learning atmosphere.
I teach first grade at a wonderful Title I school where over 50% of our student population participates in our free breakfast and lunch program.
Also, a significant number of our student population are English Language Learners. Our families come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Each child comes to school eager and ready to learn.
My Project
The listening center is an important technology teaching tool in the classroom. Multiple students can be immersed in a story and be transported to new places through the magic of a book. Listening center activities can also build reading skills, sight word vocabulary, and literacy skills. It helps with differentiating curriculum and is an important teaching tool for my English Language Learners. With classroom sizes increasing, classroom space has become limited. Cordless headphones allow students to sit at their own desks or at various places in the classroom without being overcrowded or hassling with headphone cords.
Help me build life-long readers who have developed excellent skills by participating in learning opportunities at a listening center.
I hope that the generosity of donors will make a difference by providing my current class and classes in the future with cordless headphones to make education more productive and fun. Make a difference in a child's learning experience.
