This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We need an external hard drive to help us archive our readers-theater productions, including photos, video, and more. With a hard drive, my students can store much more information that can be shared and with composition notebooks we can further improve their language skills.

The community my students come from is low-income where 100% of students qualify for free or reduced price lunch.

These students do not have the much needed supplies or resources they need to succeed, especially in the fine arts. Although majority of the children that go to our school are English language learners, they want to become better readers and get good grades. They also want to make their parents proud. They do have the energy and enthusiasm to explore and create successful reading theater plays but are lacking the supplies to make it happen.

My Project

With an external hard drive, we could save all of our end of year productions that my elementary drama students put on. Throughout the year, we collect videos, photos, interviews, and audio but unfortunately do not have enough space to store it all, year after year. With this hard drive we would have that space to save our memories and archive and share for other years. We would use the notebooks for writing journals and reflections on plays and stories we act.

This project is important because the skills taught will help them become successful writers, artists and musicians.

My students are high achieving and I only strive to make them better. I am continually raising the bar to push their skills to the next level. By contributing to this project the impact you make will be endless.
