This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

They love technology! However, there are not enough computers in my classroom for every student to spend quality time each day.

My spectacular second graders are an energetic group of inner-city, young scholars who are eager to learn in an interactive, hands on environment.

They attend an affiliated charter school in California with an emphasis on math, science, and technology. Throughout the year, they will be exposed to a myriad of learning experiences that will help narrow the learning gap and bridge the digital divide.

My Project

My ultimate goal is to have a laptop for every two students in my class to share. Currently, my students have access to five desktop computers that are over eight years old. My students must rotate 4 times each day to use a computer for twenty minutes. I am requesting one Hp Laptop AMD E-Series Processor/15.6" Display. A laptop computer will allow portability. My students will be able to use the laptop as an interactive learning tool anywhere in the classroom and in the field. Information will be just a click away at their fingertips throughout the day.

By having a laptop computer, my students will be able to access information on demand, do research, and complete assignments at their own pace instead of waiting all day for their turn on a computer that may or may not work.
