Help me give my students access to technology and translation through tablets and headphones. We will use these for translating purposes, practicing listening and interacting with speech, and help them proceed into the modern technological world. Thank you!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a dynamic and hands-on learning community located in the Bronx, NY. We focus on student-centered, teacher created and collaborative project based learning, as well as instilling leadership based skills and understanding into our curriculum to benefit both students and staff.
My ELL students (English Language Learners) are a group of 25 students that range from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
They are students who have just recently moved to the United States from a non-English speaking country to students who were born and raised in the Bronx, and benefit from the diversity and culture that we enjoy in this neighborhood. My students are hard working, caring and enthusiastic about school and about learning language to help themselves academically, and of course, socially! I am also lucky and grateful to have supportive and encouraging parents and family members who collaborate with school staff, and continue learning and language at home to better support the needs of their children.
My Project
Through a combination of push-in and pull-out English language services, my little language learners gain experience and interact with English using visual, audio and hands on methods. These tablets will be incredibly helpful for our entering and emerging students who still rely on translation apps and resources to find their words and translate their text, in addition to myself as their teacher. Giving students the opportunity to still interact with their home language as they begin the process of acquiring English is important, and with our variety of languages (from Russian to Urdu to Arabic), teacher and students are able to communicate and share information as they progress up the language learning ladder. Additionally, allowing for students to have differentiated work through interactive apps and tools, accompanied by their headphones to better build their listening capabilities, will build the skill and confidence that my students need to succeed.
