This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in a low income and high poverty school in NYC- Queens. My students come from many cultural backgrounds. 40% of my students are students with special needs who are visual and auditory learners. They are inquisitive and have a true love for math, science, literature and history. They enjoy working in small groups conducting investigations and discovering, while solving real world problems through research, and critical thinking. They take great pride on their work and love sharing it through presentations.
My Project
My scholars need technology to research and access programs that would meet their special, visual and auditory needs. With these devices they will be able to meet their academic goals and create presentations to share them with the class and school community. These devices will increase their literacy skills as they learn in a motivational way. We will use the printer to print their work and display it for everyone to see. The scholars will enjoy learning with these devices that motivate them to learn even more.
Students will benefit by working together and cooperatively with their peers as they further develop their lifelong skills need into adulthood to ensure their success in the job market later in life.
