My students need more hands on experiences with technology publishing. The Blue Microphone Nessie will be for podcasting. The Occulus Go will be used to supplement Literature, History, and Science lessons for the entire High School.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are earnest, creative, and brimming with potential. All they need are the resources to coax out the creativity and drive. About 75% come from families making less than the national average, they are all on free-and-reduced lunch.
I create projects that effect the entire student population of my school (appx.
1200 students), many of which are low income. With an emphasis on technology as a means to close the achievement gap. T
Though all students are special, I believe mine to be exceptional due to their grit and determination to fight against the limitations set upon them by economic and political circumstance.
My Project
The podcasting will allow our English Language Learners to practice creating media content for a wide audience. The AP students will also create podcasts in order to engage with politics, history, and literature - crafting arguments for a wide audience.
The Occulus Go will allow for virtual trips and experiences not often affordable to many of our students, this will allow them some semblance of travel which will then be used as occasion for writing, analysis, and interpretation.
This project is part of an ongoing effort to create a media room that will expose our entire student body to modern technology.
