Help me give my students a way to store and charge the devices which are fundamental to their continued growth as readers and provide headphones so students will be able to increase their access to instructional materials.
I have a room full of fourth grade students eager to learn and grow. They range in reading levels from kindergarten through eighth grade, which makes the technology available to them great for supporting their wide variety of learning needs.
My Project
The use of laptops as a daily resource is making the difference for my students in multiple content areas. The laptops create a continuity of learning as we navigate between in-person and distance learning. The devices also allow my students to read books appropriate to their current ability levels, visit recorded math mini-lessons, and reference materials completed or missed during distance learning.
The inability to charge every student device daily has created a disruption to student learning.
The presence of a charging cart will ensure that every device is ready for student use. The addition of headphones will increase the accessibility of benchmark reading material to many and allow my classroom to take full advantage of curriculum materials.
This donation will meet countless standards including: SL 4.1, RI 4.1, and MP.4, which are essential standards revisited multiple times throughout the school year.
