Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that I have been able to build quality relationships with all my third grade students this year. I have an exceptional group of kids that are committed to their education. At the beginning of the year, another teacher told me I would never have a full class every day because so many students are usually absent. However, I am proud to say that I have had several days where EVERY student is present! I truly believe this is because they enjoy coming to my class. My goal is to have a warm, inviting space that is equitable for them.
My class is part of a Title I school, which means we are committed to closing the achievement gap between disadvantaged or minority students and their peers.
This project will help me honor this commitment by providing much-needed technology accessories to ALL my students. Not every family can afford to purchase headphones which are a vital part of our blended learning and small group activities at school. This project will ensure I have enough for each student to use a quality set of headphones to complete online lessons.
In addition, the class whiteboard set will really help the students with engagement during math lessons. They will be able to use the whiteboards to show their work when learning new strategies or solving math equations. The bonus is it helps us save paper too!
