My Students

Every morning the students come into the classroom and eagerly inquire about the use of the classroom laptops. We do not have enough laptop computers for all students to use, but with the help of the Nexus 9 tablet, more students would have the advantage of working with technology on a daily basis.

I teach 22 excited 3rd grade students along the coast of South Carolina at a school that contains PK-3rd grade.

My students come to school and are very excited to find out what new information they can learn that day. They absolutely love to have the chance to learn with the help of technology. Every day 9 different students start out the morning using technology. It would be wonderful if 10 out of 22 students had the chance to use technology in the morning with the addition of the class tablet. In one week's time, that would enable 5 additional children to begin their day with the aide of technology.

My Project

Each morning, students enter the classroom and nine of them use technology to begin their day working with Moby Max, ALEKS, or Math REFLEX. The next morning, nine different students use technology and by the third day, all students have had the chance to start their day out with technology. Students develop the skill of researching in 3rd grade. Students will be able to research information, increase basic skills and enhance learning with the help of the tablet in the classroom. There are many different apps available for the tablet to enhance student's basic skills and assist in developing new skills. Lastly, students will be able to increase their learning ability with the tablet because they can research, use the internet and use different apps to enrich learning.

My students will be ecstatic if they have the ability to use technology more in the classroom.

Their faces light up whenever they have a chance to use the classroom technology, whether it is a desktop computer, laptop, or a mini computer. The tablet will only continue to bring smiles and help them as they learn by providing additional practice and information needed to become a successful 3rd grade student.
