This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students all come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds near the heart of Houston, Texas. They do not have many opportunities outside of the classroom to grow in their learning because their parents are often busy working and cannot help them. They are hardworking students and I want to be able to provide them with opportunities to experience a variety of activities both in and out of the classroom.
My school is a Title I school where the majority of our students are from low-income homes.
The school does its best to provide what they can to our students, but cannot always meet the demands. After school programs are an opportunity for them to safely explore and grow as future members of our society.
My Project
This project will expand our use of technology in the classroom. My goal with the laptop is to connect it to the SMARTboard in our room. That way I can move around the classroom and still be connected to the board. My students will get to do the activities all together using just one computer.
The students can then do more interactive activities using the SMARTboard, while I am controlling it with the laptop.
This will keep them more engaged in their learning, especially for math and science games. There are so many interactive websites that will be made available to my second graders as a whole group!
