My students all come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds near the heart of Houston, Texas. They do not have many opportunities outside of the classroom to practice their reading skills because their parents are often busy working and cannot help them. My students are very eager to learn more, and I want to be able to give them as much knowledge as I can while they are with me, as well as to teach them how to learn on their own for when they are at home.

About my class
