My students are in a low income area and all our students receive free breakfast and lunch during our school day. I have 24 students on a variety of learning levels within my classroom. Some of my students are more advanced and could benefit from added technology in the classroom. I have some of my students that are learning challenged and could benefit from added technology in the classroom. I have some students who are English language learners in the classroom and could benefit from added technology in the classroom.
My classroom has one working computer to share during the school day and that puts limits on the use for technology in the classroom.
I would like to have more choices for using technology in my classroom than be limited as we are now. I feel if we get to buy at least 4-6 tablets for use during the school day, it would benefit them to improve their skills by providing technology which would not be limited as it is currently. Our students are more technological learners and more centered on learning without setting limits on being successful by the lack of technology in the classroom.
My Project
My students need technology in our classrooms to have a better chance at being successful. Most of my children are eager to learn and need a better opportunity to have their needs met if we can purchase at least 4-6 tablets to use daily in the classroom.
Presently we have one computer in my classroom that is working.
With 24 students on a variety of learning levels, each level could benefit from having them available to them on a continuous basis. Our school is wired with wireless capabilities but have no tablets in our classrooms to use.
There are many learning apps that can be utilized for math and science in the classroom. My second graders would greatly benefit from that opportunity to use websites such as abcya.com, xtramath.org, aplusmath.com, stemscope.org for Science and Math, as well other areas of learning.
