Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a turnaround campus in an underserved community where many students do not have access to educational resources and support outside of school. Many of my students are still developing English proficiency and most read several grade levels below 7th grade. Our campus is a 1:1 technology school, which means that every student on our campus is eligible to receive a Chromebook with internet access for use at school and at home with their schoolwork. The program is wonderful, however only funds the actual technology. Many of my students need extra chargers while at school, need to charge Chromebooks throughout the day, and need headphones for online learning programs or to practice speaking and listening in English.

Can you help me provide my students with the technology accessories they need to successfully use their technology at school?

Organization bins will help to hold extra chargers for each class period, shoe organizers are great to hold and organize headphones to ensure they do not get lost or broken, and charging towers will limit the number of cords running across the floor and ensure that we have enough outlets for everyone who needs to charge their technology. These little things will help me to be more effective in utilizing technology to maximize our learning this year.
