My Students

Play is our brain's favorite way of learning. In PreSchool, children are not built to sit still and keep quiet. They need motion, novelty, adventure, and engagement with their whole body. They need to play!

As teachers, it is our job to encourage this play-based learning, while assessing the students' development at the same time.

In Camden, we strive to do what is developmentally appropriate for the students at all times. Fortunately for all of us, we use an amazing curriculum that allows for the students to develop and learn and in a variety of different ways.

My Project

The education field is an ever-changing and ever-growing world. There are regularly new developments made from research on best practices. As a teacher who is competent with technology, I make time to attend webinars and online training modules, in addition to the ones mandated by my district. Having a laptop would allow me to complete these trainings to remain current with modern research.

Being a teacher of Pre-K, I am always looking for new and exciting ways to engage my students, while keeping the current best practices in mind.

I am constantly researching new hands-on ways to have my students learn, whether I am finding math, literacy, cooking, or physical education activities. I do not use dittos or worksheets in my room, so using websites and collaborating with fellow Early Childhood Education Teachers from around the country is very helpful.
