Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is made up of about 500 students in grades Pre-K through 5th Grade. We are in the technology-rich city of Huntsville with much support from our community as mentors.

Many of the students in our school are English-language learners.

However, hands on learning via technology surpasses any language barriers. The students are excited about using technology this year and tablets would help them share their collaborative efforts with the world through programs such as Flipgrid, SeeSaw, and Padlet.

My Project

In today's classrooms, students are encouraged to learn 21st Century Skills that include utilizing technology to create. Students work collaboratively on projects that share their passion and their voice.

Communicating their passions with the world via the tech tools gives students an authentic audience.

They can connect with other students and professionals to share and learn from one another.

The tablets will be used with Google Expedition to travel to places around the world on virtual field trips. They can use the tablets with Flipgrid and SeeSaw to share what they have learned and give one another feedback. This takes down our classroom walls and allows learners to be globally minded.
