This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I currently work with 23 multilingual learners in a Title I school. Bringing in technology for them helps to encourage 21st century learning skills.
I would love to have an iPad so we can utilize it for many purposes.
We would be able to use all of our classroom apps and programs. It could also be used as a doc cam, class camera to record/document important moments and events, and it could serve as a laptop as well.
I would love to also get fun, wireless keyboards so that we can practice our typing skills. This is something we do with our writing. Students physically write to practice their motor skills, but will transfer their work into typing for their final drafts.
Having the iPad would be so beneficial, especially when using it in small groups. I would use our school's digital program to practice their letters, sounds, and sight words. With a bigger screen, all the students in my small group would be able to see and participate. I could even take the learning outside and do lessons outdoors. The possibilities would be endless.
