My students are amazing people who surprise me every day. My students inspire me to be a better teacher and work to constantly find the piece of the puzzle to unlock their potential.
I believe in my students and strive to stretch their potential a little every day.
I am a special education teacher in an autistic support classroom in a Philadelphia school district. High school special education programs, designed for students with complex needs, focus on functional academics, interpersonal communication, life skills activities, and pre-vocational work tasks.
My Project
Planning for the switch to hybrid instruction, where students are both home and in the classroom, I have to consider new distractions. These tools will help my hybrid students with special needs to access the instructional content without acoustic feedback and with independence. Our school is in a large urban school district where all students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Asking families to provide these resources for the classroom would be a logistical and financial burden. Please consider helping me fund this project to help my students access the hybrid classroom’s instructional academic and post-secondary content lessons. Thank you for checking out my project.
