Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diagnosed with Autism. They have high communication, sensory, and social skill needs.

My students have a love for learning and strive every day to give their best despite their disabilities.

Although they face many obstacles, I strive to give them the best possible education to make them life long learners!

Many of my students are from low income homes, and their parents work tirelessly to give them what they need, but many times lack the monetary funds to do so.

My students live in the Houston area and our district was impacted greatly by Hurricane Harvey in August. Many of my students homes were flooded and they experienced great loss.

My Project

I am requested an iPad with a protective case for my students. Many of my students are nonverbal which means they have to communicate by other means rather than speaking. There are several apps on the iPad that can by utilized to help my students communicate there wants and needs effectively.

My students are very visual learners and these apps and programs for the iPad can be used to teach them skills they will need for school and life!

They will be able to access eBooks and other academic apps that will spark their interest and get their brains working! My students would really benefit from interactive learning opportunities to really stay engaged!
