This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I'm the librarian of a Title I high school in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Our student population consists of tenth, eleventh, and twelfth-grade students. All of our student body receives free lunch. Many are reluctant readers who read more than two levels below grade level.
However, despite the obstacles they face, our students are curious and motivated to learn.
They just need more tools to encourage them to do so. They are incredibly creative and talented kids who are determined to make their mark in the world.
My Project
Our ever-expanding MakerSpace is in need of an additional computer! We have a couple of Cricut machines available and a new computer that we could pair with one would be wonderful. Our library computers are also getting a little bit dated so this MacBook would allow our students to access a reliable device in order to complete projects and research as needed. Digital projects are increasingly the norm at our school and we want to make sure our students have access to the technology they need to complete their work. Having a high-quality device would be amazing; thank you in advance for your consideration!
