This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students face unique challenges, not only because they are non-verbal but also because their learning environment is often not in the typical classroom setting. The TalkingBrix and QuickTalker AAC devices will provide them with a powerful means of communication, allowing them to interact more effectively with their families, teachers, and support staff. These tools will give them the ability to express their needs, share their thoughts, and actively participate in their lessons, bridging the gap that isolation can create.
My students are incredible learners with diverse abilities, ranging from second to twelfth grade.
They have so much to share through their thoughts, feelings, and ideas. TalkingBrix and QuickTalker AAC devices are the keys to unlocking their voices and ensuring they can actively engage with the world around them.
These devices will empower my students to communicate effectively, whether it’s sharing answers in class, expressing their emotions, or making choices about their daily activities. For many of them, the ability to say “yes,” “no,” or “I need help” will be transformative. These devices foster independence, boost confidence, and encourage meaningful interactions with peers and teachers. By integrating these tools into their learning, my students will develop critical communication skills that extend beyond the classroom, preparing them for greater opportunities in life.
The goal of this project is to create a supportive environment where every student can be heard. I aim to foster self-expression, improve social connections, and enhance learning outcomes. What makes my students truly special is their resilience, enthusiasm, and potential to thrive when given the right support. They inspire me daily to find innovative ways to meet their needs. With your help, we can make their voices heard loud and clear.
