Help me give my students a set of Chromebooks to differentiate their learning and help become 21st century learners by completing rigorous tasks while also supporting their specific learning needs and styles.

My Students
I am a special education teacher teaching in a NYC Public school with students in grades 6-8. Each student has a specific learning style and need modifications when it comes to their learning needs. The school consists of a vast multicultural environment with staff geared towards 20th century learners. Many students have difficulty independently working in the classroom. Many students also have different disabilities and needs to reach their learning. They would greatly benefit from the furthering of technology incorporated into their daily assignments and tasks. Many of our students do not have access to technology at home.
In addition, allowing them to use technology would enforce a student lead learning environment.
My Project
By donating to our project, you will help increase student engagement as well as individualized student achievement. Providing differentiated and instructional tools will be able to support the many different learning styles within my classroom. My students work best with technology because they are interested and familiar with the manipulatives and programs used. Our school is also beginning to utilize Google Classroom, which will allow the students to collaborate with one another and learn from their peers with these Chromebooks. Middle school students would much rather type writing pieces because this is what they are used to.
In this technology driven world, any interaction with 21st century technology will increase their desire to learn and fully support their future careers and dreams!
