Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The document camera in my classroom will make a difference in their learning by using it to show 3D models and large maps, to show microscopic images, to share images with my students over the internet, to model tasks or demonstrate how to do something live, for example, during our writing block, they are able to see how I use the spaces between the words, capitalize, and stay within the line of their paper to reflect quality in their daily tasks. The document camera will be very useful especially to write or draw graphics, diagrams,form etc.
My students can see their work immediately, which can lead to immediate feedback and instruction.
I will also encourage my students through interaction. For example, they can share their insights and projects while displaying their work using the document camera.
My second graders are a group of very inquisitive children who like to learn through real life experiences. They are excited about learning and taking any challenge they face. They are in a Dual Language classroom which includes students coming from a minority group (hispanics/latinos in some cases immigrants) who have experienced education marginalization.
By supporting our project, my students will have access to a better experience with the use of technology, more vivid and realistic images to support the second language acquisition and become a more global citizens sharing their knowledge beyond the classroom.
