Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 5th grade in Utah. We are a wonderful charter school that uses the students' interests to help them learn. We are always looking for wonderful teaching methods to help students.
My students are wonderful we just need a little help.
I have several levels in my class. Our school is big on curriculum compacting and helping gifted kids move faster and struggling kids get the extra help they need. We would benefit so much from your donation. Every little bit helps us reach our goal. I teach Science to all 88 5th grade students and have clusters of 25 new students every 8 weeks. Your donation will help more than just one 5th grade class, it will help several students not to mention the students in years to come.
My Project
AA is a wonderful school where we use student interests to help student stay engaged and find their passion. We have several computer programs that help student engagement but not enough computers to allow students to fully explore the programs. My students and below level and need all the extra help and intervention we have available but unfortunately we only have 5 computers for 28 kids. We don't have enough to allow students access everyday.
Some of our students don't have access to technology when they go home.
These computers will go right to work. Helping reach every student so that they will have a little bit of exposure everyday to the wonderful programs that will help them fill the gap in reading, math and science.
The students will also benefit from some guided reading books. Currently out of the 88 students in 5th grade only 20 of them read at a 5th grade level. We would like to add literature to all our subjects to help make sure that all our subjects ate rich in text. Because of this we want our students to be infused with math, social studies and science text during reading groups.
