My classroom is filled with eager and energetic learners who all are diagnosed with Autism. Several of the students are non-verbal, so access to technology would assist them with their wants and needs.
Having technology in our room would open so many doors for my students.
There are many programs and apps that would enhance their learning in the areas of math, reading, writing, and communication.
These kids deserve the best education possible, and I want to be able to provide that for them.
My Project
We are a Title I school that has limited technology resources for our special needs students. Many of our kids come from single-parent homes and have very limited access to technology. Having access to specific programs would help them grow academically.
Tablets would provide them the ability to work independently and provide programs to enhance their learning while giving them the skills they need to be successful in their education.
Daily use of tablets would help them keep pace with their typical general education peers. Technology is becoming more prevalent in classrooms... and my students deserve the same opportunity as their peers.
