My Students
African American, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, Caucasian... The wonderful melting pot of my Kindergarten class. My students are energetic, funny, inquisitive, and strong. They are so excited!
Our school includes low-income students, with 100% of them receiving free lunch.
They come from homes with wonderful parental involvement but minimal resources.
My students are very eager to learn new things. I want to be able to afford them different opportunities to learn many new things by using different materials and different avenues.
My Project
Our classroom has been completely transformed by the tablets that you all provided through your donations. Since receiving our tablets, I am able to teach more about (and with) technology and my students are truly excelling! But we only have a handful of tablets in our classroom. Because the tablets are limited, I would love to include iPads to our classroom technology. iPads extend the same amount of resources as the tablets and more. Applications that we use in the classroom on the smart board can be transferred to the iPads so that students may work on them independently.
With the addition of iPads in the classroom, I will be able to equip each one of my students with the tools to learn in a different way.
The iPad will be used to extend what I am teaching in the classroom. The educational applications that will be put on the iPads will give the students an opportunity to learn the same material in a different way. While they think they are simply playing a game, they will be learning to add using number lines or segmenting and blending words. The possibilities are endless!
