This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Because my school lacks the financial resources to provide funding for me to attend, I have applied for and received a partial sponsorship and will pay the balance out of my own pocket to attend an amazing, three-day Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) hands-on, innovative, interactive and highly-collaborative conference where attendees will need their own devices in order to participate and learn through the professional development workshops.
While I will participate in more than one session, the BYOD session I am most excited about is the Create and Innovate with iTunes U session.
Here, with the iPad, I will gain first-hand, hands-on knowledge of the incredible power of iTunes U and learn to use iTunes U to fit the needs of my tech-savvy students. Learning how to use and implement iTunes U will help me help my students gain skills and understandings that will be immensely beneficial in and outside the classroom.
